Request to Support the Online Campaign Regarding the Disappearance of Turkmen Civil Activists in Türkiye

Dear Representatives of the Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Türkiye, The Human Rights Platform of the Civil Movement “DAYANÇ Turkmenistan” respectfully addresses you with a request for support regarding a matter of serious concern — the disappearance of two Turkmen civil activists, Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov. Both activists disappeared on the territory of the Republic of Türkiye in July 2025 after being held at the Edirne Removal (Deportation) Center. Since that time, their whereabouts remain unknown. The families of the missing activists, members of civil society, and human rights organizations continue their efforts to seek the truth and to ensure a transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding their disappearance. In this context, the Human Rights Platform of the civil movement “DAYANÇ Turkmenistan” has launched an online campaign under the slogan “We Want Only Justice.” The purpose of this campaign is to draw public and international attention to the fate of the missing activists and to encourage efforts aimed at clarifying their whereabouts. We respectfully ask the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Türkiye to: support this peaceful civic initiative; contribute to efforts aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the disappearance of Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov; assist in obtaining information about their whereabouts; support a transparent and thorough investigation into this case. For us, this is not a political issue. It is a matter of human life, justice, and the protection of fundamental human rights. We sincerely hope that the Republic of Türkiye, as a country committed to the principles of rule of law and human rights, will support the efforts of civil society aimed at establishing the truth and ensuring justice. We believe that joint efforts by state institutions, diplomatic missions, and human rights defenders can help bring clarity to this case and restore hope to the families of the missing activists.
