Request for Support for the Online Campaign and Investigation into the Disappearance of Turkmen Civil Activists in Türkiye

Dear representatives of international human rights organizations, The Human Rights Platform of the Civil Movement “DAYANÇ Turkmenistan” respectfully appeals to your organization regarding a matter of serious concern — the disappearance of two Turkmen civil activists, Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov. Both activists disappeared in July 2025 on the territory of the Republic of Türkiye after being held at the Edirne Removal (Deportation) Center. Since that time, their whereabouts remain unknown. Their families, colleagues, and members of civil society continue to seek answers and demand a transparent investigation into the circumstances of their disappearance. In response to this alarming situation, the Human Rights Platform of the civil movement “DAYANÇ Turkmenistan” has launched an online campaign under the slogan “We Want Only Justice.” The goal of this initiative is to draw international attention to the fate of the missing activists and to encourage efforts aimed at clarifying their whereabouts. We kindly ask your respected organization to: support the ongoing online campaign calling for justice; raise awareness about the disappearance of Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov; assist in advocating for a transparent and independent investigation into this case; help draw the attention of international human rights mechanisms to the fate of the missing activists. For the families of the missing men, every day without information is a day of deep uncertainty and suffering. For civil society, this case raises serious concerns regarding the safety of activists and the protection of fundamental human rights.
