Our Future Is Winning — But Will There Be a Place for It at Home?

Our Future Is Winning — But Will There Be a Place for It at Home? We sincerely congratulate young Turkmen wrestler Dovletgeldy Muradov on his victory at the PWL Junior tournament in Moscow. Competing in the 92 kg weight category, he defeated Russian wrestler Roland Pukhaev by a score of 4–1. Earlier, Dovletgeldy became the 2026 Asian U20 Champion. This is truly a reason to be proud. Achievements like this require talent, tremendous effort, discipline, and determination to succeed. Young people like him are the future of Turkmenistan. But we want this future to have a place, first and foremost, in its own homeland. It is not enough for young people to hear words about patriotism and love for their country. They must see that their country values and cares for them in return. This means decent wages, quality education, opportunities for professional and athletic development, respect for human rights, and freedom of choice. And there is something equally important: wherever a citizen of Turkmenistan may be — at home or thousands of kilometres away — they should feel that their country stands behind them. Their passport should not be merely a document, but a guarantee that, in difficult circumstances, their state will defend their rights and interests anywhere in the world. This is how a genuine sense of belonging to one's country is built — not through fear and restrictions, but through confidence: my country values me, my rights are protected, my work is respected, and I have a future here. Turkmenistan is rich in natural resources, but its greatest wealth is its people: athletes, students, scientists, doctors, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and talented young people. They should not have to look exclusively beyond their country's borders for the chance to build a dignified life. Dovletgeldy, congratulations on your well-deserved victory. We wish you many more achievements and international successes! And we wish Turkmenistan something even more important — to learn to cherish what is most valuable: its citizens. Our young people are the future of Turkmenistan. They have the right not only to make their homeland proud, but also to live there with dignity, to feel its support, and to know that wherever they are in the world, their country stands behind them.
