On International Women’s Day, the Human Rights Platform “DAYANÇ” Reminds Women About Safety

March 8 is not only a day of congratulations and flowers. It is also a day when the world speaks about women’s rights, safety, and dignity. In recent years, many countries, including Turkey, have seen an increase in cases of violence against women. Unfortunately, among the victims are also citizens of Turkmenistan living outside their country. On International Women’s Day, the Human Rights Platform of the Civic Movement “DAYANÇ” / Turkmenistan considers it important to remind women to take care of their safety and to be aware of the protection mechanisms that exist. In the Republic of Turkey, the official police application KADES (Women’s Emergency Support Application) operates as a system of emergency assistance for women, developed by the Ministry of Interior of Turkey. This application allows women to send an emergency alert to the police with a single press of a button in case of threat or violence. The system automatically transmits the user’s location, and the nearest police patrol is dispatched to the scene. According to official data, the response time may take only a few minutes. It is important to remember that protecting human life and safety is a priority, and women should never be afraid to seek help. The Human Rights Platform “DAYANÇ” / Turkmenistan calls on women not to remain silent about violence, not to face threats alone, and to use all available tools for protection. The safety of women is the foundation of a just and humane society. With respect and solidarity, Human Rights Platform of the Civic Movement “DAYANÇ” / Turkmenistan
