Malikberdi Allamyradov Malikberdi Allamyradov is a Turkmen civil activist known for supporting the rights of Turkmen students and speaking out against human rights violations in Turkmenistan. He studied at Kalmyk State University in Elista, Russia. In 2021, he became publicly known after holding a solo protest, which later led to legal proceedings and increased attention from the authorities. Allamyradov actively spoke about social and political problems in Turkmenistan, defended the rights of students, and participated in civic activism. Before his disappearance, he lived in the Moscow region and worked at a shelter for homeless dogs. On December 10, 2023, Malikberdi Allamyradov disappeared on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to human rights defenders and statements from his relatives, he was forcibly taken by officers of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Turkmenistan. On December 12, 2023, information emerged confirming his deportation and forced transfer to Turkmenistan. Later, reports appeared that he had been detained in Ashgabat. Since then, reliable information about his whereabouts, health condition, and legal status has remained extremely limited. International human rights organizations consider his case an example of transnational repression, enforced disappearance, and politically motivated persecution of Turkmen civil activists.
