Announcement of the Documentary Film 🎬 “KEMINE. Beyond Borders, Beyond the Law” The Human Rights Platform of the Civic Movement “Dayanch” / Turkmenistan presents the documentary film “KEMINE. Beyond Borders, Beyond the Law,” dedicated to the victims of transnational repression targeting citizens of Turkmenistan. The film focuses on Merdan Muhammedov (Kemine), a civil activist, blogger, and public figure who was forcibly deported at the request of the Turkmen authorities in June 2024. This documentary tells not only the story of one individual but also sheds light on the broader phenomenon of transnational repression—persecution of citizens beyond their country’s borders, unlawful deportations, enforced disappearances, intimidation, pressure on activists’ families, and violations of fundamental human rights. The film presents testimonies, documented facts, and an analysis of the mechanisms that enable authoritarian regimes to pursue their critics far beyond national boundaries.
