250 Stories of Freedom: Belarus Releases Political Prisoners

The Human Rights Platform of the civil movement “DAYANÇ Turkmenistan” welcomes the news of the release of political prisoners in the Republic of Belarus. We are sincerely happy for every person who has regained their freedom. Behind each of these stories are years of waiting, the pain of families, and a belief in justice. We congratulate all those who have been released and express our deep solidarity with them and their loved ones. We also express hope for the prompt release of all remaining political prisoners who are still deprived of their freedom. It is especially important to emphasize that freedom of speech is not a privilege, but a constitutional right of every citizen, guaranteed by both national legislation and international law. In this context, we also draw attention to the situation in Turkmenistan. We hope that in the near future, all political prisoners in Turkmenistan will also be released. We particularly highlight the cases of civil activists who have been abducted, unlawfully and forcibly deported from the territories of Türkiye and the Russian Federation. These cases require international attention, transparent investigation, and justice. The Human Rights Platform “DAYANÇ” expresses hope that the authorities of Turkmenistan will respect international law and their own Constitution, and will cease persecution and pressure against civil society. The people are the state. And power is a temporary mandate entrusted by the people. Leaders come and go, but the people remain. Therefore, every person has the right: — to freedom of speech — to express their civic position — to protection of their rights and dignity The state is us. And our rights cannot be restricted. Freedom must be for everyone.
